From Rust to Revival: Mobile weld Repair Fabrication for Chevy Hauler

Salt and Time Lead to Severe Rust Damage

Our client purchased a 3-year-old Chevy dump truck at a state auction in Georgia. The truck had been sitting idle for 2.5 years after the county filled the bed with salt, anticipating winter conditions that never arrived. Over time, exposure to weather and the corrosive salt caused severe rust damage to the truck’s bed and frame. Additionally, the stagnant fuel led to blockages in the fuel system. Since the truck was no longer drivable, The client requested our on-site mobile welding and fabrication services to restore and reinforce the truck’s frame and bed.

We began by cutting out the rusted areas of the bed, frame, and tailgate. Using MIG welding, we fabricated new light boxes, riser panels, tie-down hooks, then reinforced the bed liner with heavy-gauge steel to withstand the abrasive materials the client hauls. The back frame Trim plate was upgraded to 3/8 plate. The outriggers were reinforced with a heavy 2 x 2 x 1/4 angle for rigidity and Robustness.
